What the service does
This service connects people affected by cancer with volunteer lawyers who provide advice on cancer-related legal issues. Lawyers can help patients prepare a will, appoint an enduring power of attorney (a person to make financial or property decisions on their behalf) or an enduring guardian (a person to make health or lifestyle decisions on their behalf). Lawyers can also assist patients, carers, or bereaved carers with employment law, superannuation, insurance and credit or debt issues. The service is completely free for people who cannot afford professional advice and meet eligibility criteria. A referral for paid legal advice is available for people who do not satisfy the eligibility criteria.
