Legal Support Program

Cancer Council Victoria

Legal support

What the service does

The Legal Support Program provides free legal support for people in Victoria living with advanced cancer. The service is confidential and delivered with participating Victorian law firms. Legal support can include help with basic wills (legal documents that say what happens to a person’s belongings), powers of attorney (choosing someone to make decisions), and appointing a medical treatment decision maker (a person who makes medical choices if someone cannot). The service is for people who cannot afford the cost of advice. The service will assess eligibility.
