What the service does

The Legal Referral Service connects people affected by cancer, including carers, with volunteer lawyers who provide free legal help. This service can help with wills, power of attorney (a legal document to act for someone) and enduring guardian (a legal decision maker for future care) documents for people with cancer. It can also assist with work issues, superannuation and insurance disputes and credit or debt matters related to a cancer diagnosis. The service is for people who are having money difficulties and cannot afford the cost of advice. The service will assess eligibility. This support is available in New South Wales, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.
