Overview

Chemotherapy (or “chemo”) uses drugs to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. You may have one drug or a combination of drugs depending on the cancer type.

Chemotherapy can be given on its own or as part of a treatment plan that could include surgery, radiation therapy or other cancer drugs.
