What the service does

The Territory Equipment Program (TEP) helps people with a permanent or long term disability in the Northern Territory access equipment and home modifications that support daily living. People can get items such as mobility aids, communication devices, pressure care equipment and continence aids (products that help manage bladder or bowel control). An approved health professional must apply on a person’s behalf. Equipment that meets assessed needs is funded through the program. In some cases, people may need to contribute to the cost of equipment. Interpreter support is available through the Interpreting and Translating Service NT (ITSNT) and the Aboriginal Interpreter Service (AIS). For support, people can contact the Top End (Darwin) team on 08 8922 5571 or tepdarwin.ths@nt.gov.au, or the Central Australia (Alice Springs) team on 08 8951 6747 or tepaliceSprings.ths@nt.gov.au.
