What the service does
The Private Health Insurance complaints, part of the Commonwealth Ombudsman, helps people with complaints about private health insurance. People can get information, advice and support if they have concerns about their health insurer, policy, benefits (payments or cover provided by insurance), waiting periods or out-of-pocket costs. The Ombudsman can investigate complaints and help resolve issues in a fair and independent way. People are encouraged to first try to resolve the issue with their health insurer before making a complaint. The service is available across Australia.
