What the service does
Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) supports people who travel for treatment in Western Australia. It helps pay for travel and accommodation costs. It is for people who live in regional or remote areas. Patients must travel more than 100 km from home to see a medical specialist. Some support is available for patients who travel 70–100 km one way for cancer or kidney treatment. A doctor must confirm the treatment and need for travel as part of the application. People must meet certain criteria to access this scheme.
