Office of the Public Guardian QLD

Legal support

What the service does

Office of the Public Guardian Queensland helps protect the rights and wellbeing of adults who have difficulty making decisions because of illness, injury, disability or other conditions. The service provides free information, advocacy and support about guardianship (legal decision-making support), powers of attorney (legal document to choose someone to manage money) and decision-making. The Office of the Public Guardian can also make personal and health decisions for people who are unable to make these decisions themselves and do not have a suitable family member or friend to help. Services are available across Queensland.
