What the service does

Office of the Public Advocate Western Australia helps protect the rights and wellbeing of adults who have difficulty making decisions because of disability, illness, injury or other conditions. The service provides free information, advocacy, investigations and guardianship services. It can help people understand decision-making options, plan ahead and make arrangements such as enduring powers of attorney and enduring powers of guardianship. The Office of the Public Advocate may also be appointed to make decisions for a person when there is no suitable family member or friend available. Interpreter services are available for people who prefer to communicate in a language other than English. Services are available across Western Australia.
