What the service does

The service provides free information, advocacy, investigations and guardianship services. It can help with issues such as guardianship (legal decision-making support), advance care directives and decisions about health, housing and daily living. The Office of the Public Advocate may also be appointed to make decisions for a person when there is no suitable family member or friend available. Services are available across South Australia.
