What the service does
The Counselling Service offers personalised emotional support for people affected by melanoma. This includes families and carers. Counselling can help people adjust to diagnosis, manage distress, cope with fear of the cancer coming back, and find meaning. It also supports people living with advanced or metastatic melanoma (cancer that has spread) and life after treatment. Support is provided across Australia by phone or video. It includes one 50-minute session, with up to 2 follow-up sessions if needed. A telehealth nurse appointment is required first.
