What the service does

The External Breast Prosthesis Reimbursement Program helps cover the cost of external breast prostheses (artificial breasts worn under clothing). It is for anyone who has had breast surgery because of cancer. The program provides financial help to pay for buying or making a prosthesis. To use this support, people need to be registered with Medicare. People can claim up to $400 for one prosthesis, or up to $800 if both breasts were removed during surgery. This support is available across Australia. More information on how to apply is available on the website.
