Mesothelioma

Trustworthy information about mesothelioma, including diagnosis, treatment, side effects and wellbeing

Overview

Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that is usually found in the lining of the lungs (pleural mesothelioma) or abdomen (peritoneal mesothelioma).

Mesothelioma can take a long time to develop, which makes it hard to find early. It's almost always linked to asbestos exposure, often from many years ago. Asbestos is the name for a group of natural minerals used in buildings from the 1940s until the 1980s.

A mesothelioma diagnosis can be a shock. Find helpful information in Just diagnosed, or call Cancer Connect on 13 11 20 to talk it through with our qualified professionals.
